| DSO, anyone? They are my favorite band. No one can define what genre exactly they are playing, so people just call them avant-garde metal. They are mixing genres in a crazy fashion, and it sounds simply fantastic. They released two albums so far: Butcher's Ballroom and Sing Along Songs for the Damned & Delirious. The singer of the band is a trained operatic singer, which makes it so much more awesome than it already is.

Seconded! I also had the pleasure to see them twice live, and trust me... there is no gig quite like a DSO gig.

| They are awesome. Annlouice is amazing. They're so fun and out there! I adore The Butcher's Ballroom. Although ... uh ... I could never quite get into their second album. Not sure why ... it seemed as if there were no hooks to latch onto ... perhaps (just as they said in the review on Metal Archives) there are just TOO many crazy ideas on it. xD There's a big German website with reviews of progressive rock albums, though, which I keep visiting because it's so cool, and they loved Sing Along Songs there, and made it album of the month. xD Mayhaps I'm just too narrow-minded a rocker/metalhead. | |

| Almagest, I love the second album! I am sure it has nothing to do with being open-minded, I am pretty picky about what I listen to. Perhaps it is just a Marmite situation. Obscured, try "Balrog Boogie". It's the most fun song they have made yet I think. Along with "Bedlam Sticks", but uh.. that might just scare you. | |

When it comes to DSO, it's kinda hard to suggest which songs one should listen to first because they are so different, and every individual would get hooked from a different song. But I'll make a shot in the dark and link you to this song. It is considered to be one of their best: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsmAF9cVPm4

| I like this band veeeeeeeeeeeery much discovered them some months ago and loved them right away Don't have any of their albums though I don't think they're available in my country at all ... *I also thought "Anteroom Of Death" sounded like this group the first time I listened to it * | |

| I still really think it has a DSO-ish vibe to it. Dunno about your experiences, but I always use "Balrog Boogie" to introduce people to the band, and it seems to work fine. | |
